A Story of Pain Turned Into PurposeI didn’t learn empathy from books.
I learned it from hunger.
From watching my own skin grip my bones.
From being the kind of child you see on charity posters — except for me, it wasn’t a picture. It was my life.I am not supposed to be here — not by the world’s standards.
I have known loss.
I have tasted emptiness.
I have walked through fires that should have destroyed me.I know what starvation feels like — not as an idea, but in my own body.
Days and weeks without food.
Searching through bins for scraps.
Eating grass to quiet hunger.
Drinking muddy water because there was no other choice.I know what it means to walk for hours with bare feet and torn clothes, praying for strength, for safety, for hope.By every measure, I wasn’t supposed to survive.
But instead of breaking me, my past built me.Those flames forged purpose.And that purpose became The Legacy Collective — a movement born not from privilege, but from survival… from truth… and from a promise I made to myself as a hungry child:If I ever rose, I would lift others with me.
If I ever found hope, I would become hope.
